Smart Grids Week becomes Smart Energy Systems Week Austria!

The renowned Smart Grids Week Austria has been organized by the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology (bmvit), the Climate and Energy Fund and their cooperation partners from the energy sector and industry for the last 10 years. Today it is one of the most traditional and most prestigious specialist forums in the energy and technology community. Indeed, the format of the event has already outgrown itself and the new title „Smart Energy SystemsWeek Austria – SESWA“ takes up new developments towards the design of sustainable power systems and infrastructures as well as the question of system integration.

The core issues of the Smart Energy Systems Week Austria are system issues and matters concerning flexibility as well as relevant technologies for energy systems. The event focuses on the sectors innovation, research and technology development in the socio-technical and sociocultural context. Energy sub-systems and infrastructure (grids, buildings, transport systems, etc.) and their interaction (sector group, building to grid, vehicle to grid, etc.) are considered. Aspects of the institutional framework for innovation and market transition shall also be discussed.

The conference will take place from 15th to 19th May 2017 at Messe Congress Graz. This year’s conference is in a new format comprising 1-2 days of workshops and a 3 ½ day conference with a range of topics running through the conference.
